The Department of Pharmacology plays a vital role in imparting quality education in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Pharmacology, as a discipline, forms the scientific foundation for rational drug therapy, patient safety, and evidence-based clinical decision-making. The department follows the Competency-Based Medical Education curriculum with emphasis on rational prescribing, pharmacovigilance, ethics, communication skills, and research orientation. The department actively contributes to institutional committees, research governance, and skill-based training, with a strong motto of Education, Community Welfare, and Innovation in Research..

The department handles monthly New Drug Updates and Drug Safety Alerts on institutional website and ADR Monitoring Centre (Pharmacovigilance Programme of India – PvPI).

The department functions with a vision to evolve as a global centre of excellence in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, promoting safe, rational, ethical, and evidence-based drug use through education and research.
